Windows 7 OEM license

We have a dell OptiPlex 755 we want to reuse. However it came with an XP. So, obviously the BIOS will not have the required information to auto-activate since it did not originally come with Windows 7.

If I go to newegg and get a copy of the Windows 7 32bit OEM, knowingly that all support comes from me which is fine, can I activate it through the phone. I assume it'll work this way. I think when it comes to use change product key and with OEM's to call the automated service and tell it the key has not been activated before.

Would this work?

You can install the oem version on anything that will support it, activation should work via the internet since its the first activation.
? unsure why youd have to use the change product key option and call in ?

Win 7 OEM that you get from NewEgg is an OEM builder version.

It is Not attached to anything when you installed it the first time.

After installation and online activation the Key and the motherboard id are "attached" on Microsoft activation Database. Further changes if needed thereafter, might need a telephone call.
