windows 7 not genuine after using upgrade

Have a computer that came with vista w/ free win7 voucher. upgraded using key provided. windows installs fine. upon running windows updates i get a 'non-genuine copy of windows' notification.

googled to no avail.

this upgrade came from HP. what gives?

Call HP tech support and ask.

well it only did it once but still let me download and install updates, IE 9, etc. it hasn't popped back up since.
