Windows 7 Media Center still bugs out my display.

I'm having a very very annoying problem with Windows 7. It's a problem I've attempted to report to Microsoft at LEAST twice as long as nine months ago...

I have Windows 7 running on a big 'ol 36 or so inch Toshiba CRT television screen via S-video connection. Everything was working fine and dandy with media center until I ran the display setup wizard. Now, if I go full screen with media center, when I close or minimize media center, the outter edge of my screen is clipped off. I can't see the start icon, the time, or the "close" button on windows. It's sort of like the image has been zoomed in on slightly. HUGE pain in the ass.

To unclip the edge of the desktop, I have change the resolution, which fixes it until the next time I do media center full screen. Windows Media Player does not have this issue. Only media center.

I've tried running the media center set up again, but it didn't correct the issue. I couldn't find a way to contact Microsoft technical support (even though I purchased it retail) and I can't think of what to do other than do a reinstall...

Help >.<

This sounds like it could be a a videocard/driver issue or a television one. WMC is just a glorified media player. If your tv has DVI or VGA inputs I would try those and see if the problem clears up. S-video is an analog source, and thus there is more potential for problem, plus part of it could just be your tv.

I had a 30inch widescreen CRT tv one time, and when I ran it at 720X480 it looked fine, but when I went up to 720P (it was capable) I found out the tv wasn't calibrated right and part of the screen was cut off at the bottom. I figured out how to adjust it at the tv and it looked fine, but then it was off at lower resolutions. Because CRTs are analog devices, they are prone to problems not apparent in digital ones. Long story short, I got frustrated and went and bought a 1080P LCD tv and never looked back.

Did it work fine using a older version of WMC?

it worked fine with Windows XP MCE 2005. It also works fine with windows media player. The clipping only occurs in Windows 7 media center after running the display wizard, going to full screen mode, then minimizing or closing media center. The only option I currently have for connecting to my television is via the S-Video

I'd rather not reinstall Windows 7 to undo the damage the display wizard has done, but it's looking more and more like that's what I'll have to do since I can't find any solutions or get help from the product manufacturer.

So did you ever figure this one out? I'm having the same problem and yes, it is annoying as anything.
