windows 7 keyboard mapping problem.

Hi , i have from time to time a strange problem that seems to affect my keyboard.

Occasionally the special characters above the numbers of my keyboard are misplaced. The bracket ( above the 9 becomes ) and so forth. Everything becomes shifted in position.
When i go to the configuration panel and select region and language, I have to select the US keyboard mapping again (It is default) to get it fixed.
Does anybody know how to solve this permanently ?

I think i solved it but i am not sure. It loads occasionally a dutch keyboard mapping, i think.

I had two keyboard mapping options. US and dutch. With the US keyboard mapping as default.
I removed the dutch keyboard mapping and kept the US keyboard mapping only.
