I'll make it simple. I have the Intel 80GB Gen 2 SSD with latest firmware and just set it up with Win 7. Three questions:

1. Something is amiss in Windows. Disk Defrag is NOT disabled like it should be? Superfetching is also not disabled?? Can anyone think why this is the case? Win 7 should disable this for a SSD drive it is installed on.

2. I installed the Intel Toolbox utility and its recommending to run its 'optimization' once a week. But my drive has TRIM, so I thought Windows 7 would handle this garbage collection maintenance?

2b. If I schedule the Intel optimizer to run once a week but my pc is not turned on when its scheduled, will it run the next time the system is on?

3. I have found Windows Search indexer is great with my Outlook client on my work pc. Will SSD performance hurt if I don't disable it on my new rig?

Thanks

Dupe
