Hello,

I did not have a problem with HITACHI or the raptors I have. For some reason, Windows 7 is not assigning a partition number to this HDD (Model: WD6400AAKS). I see the device is recognized in Device Manager but, how do I get it to be assigned a partition number? It has a lot of data in it that I accessed on Win XP. And, its just a data disk.

Please see attached screenies. Help much appreciated as usual.

Device Manager: http://img697.imageshack.us/img697/1736/capture1rs.png *Highlighted one 640GB is not recognized.
My Computer: http://img153.imageshack.us/img153/3153/capture2f.png
Disk Mgmt: http://img542.imageshack.us/img542/1605/capture3m.png * It says it is Foreign.

Thanks.

Fixed it!

I imported the foreign disk (right-click the disk and then clicked Import Foreign Disks). It recognized the volume. Thanks.

Thanks for the follow-up.

Question:
Do you remember how your disk ended up being created or converted to a Dynamic Disk?
