Windows 7 - Internet Connection Issue

Has anyone run into a problem where, after a restart, you must disable your internet connection in the control panel then enable it in order to have internet access? I thought it was a fluke after the initial install but it just happened again after the next restart.

Obviously I'm on the internet now but am hoping to find a solution that will allow me to connect to the internet automatically after a restart.

Do you have a router? Its sounds like it may be a problem with DHCP and IP renewal. By disabling and reenabling it forces the computer to request a new IP address. Just something to check out.

Same problem. I have dual ethernet connections and I need to swap ports. It has to do with DHCP but I have been unable to narrow down how to fix it. And yes I have a realtek ethernet port.

Just did windows update and there is a new driver, I will try it out.

Edit: Same problem it seems.

Use the Vista driver for it, and don't let Windows 7 update it. Windows 7 asked me if I wanted to update my driver, so I said yes, and it messed up a lot. So I rolled back the driver to the one I used with Vista and it hasn't been an issue since. I think Windows 7 installed a driver from a similar network card, but not my exact one. Maybe be a bug they need to look at.
