Windows 7 Installation onto C Drive

Hi

I have a simple (I hope) question about the Windows 7 Installation. I have always split my Hard Drive into two partitions on 1 hd drive which creates C and D Drives. I install just Windows onto the C Drive and all Programs, Images etc onto the D Drive. My question is:-

When I install Windows 7 Home Premium, Upgrade Edition I want to install it onto the C partition and do a clean installation. Does Windows 7 format over the D partition as well or just where I am installing it to which would be the C partition?

Thank you 🙂

It only does if you tell it too. Meaning if you delete the current partitions and start over.

If you have an existing HD partitioned into two partitions "C" and "D". You can install it into the existing "C" partition without messing with the 2nd partition. Also if you do it this way you will not end up with that recovery partition at the begining of the HD that windows7/vista creates.

Sounds good thanks.
