Windows 7 - Inconsistent battery reading

I'm not sure if this is a Windows 7 issue, a problem with the latest build, or just a problem I'll find wherever I go (I heard this happens in Vista as well).

Basically, the battery reading will jump back and forth between the time left. At 99%, it will jump between 5+ hours to 3.5 hours left, and so on. Sometimes the percentages drop quickly, sometimes they seem to be stuck while time still jump back and forth.

I'm not doing anything really intensive...just consistent, simple web browsing and note taking.

Just wondering if there's anything I can do about this.

I've heard of this happening in Vista as well. We could discuss it as if I were running Vista, if you'd like.
