Windows 7:

how do you disable that mini-preview on the task bar when you mouse over a program. For example, when you mouse over the IE icon, it previews your current browser/web page, or even video games or chat windows.

If anyone could help guide me to the right place or quickly explain how to disable this feature

FYI: Thumbnail previews. There used to be a group policy you could disable this with but it no longer works as of RC1, you have to edit the registry to take a stupidly long time before displaying the thumbnail:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\AdvancedExtendedUIHoverTime DWORD 20000 (dec)

Maybe 0 = infinite/off, but I haven't tried it so no guarantees! 🙂

Disable Thumbnail Preview

I happen to like thumbnail previews. Not sure why you would want to disable it. In fact, using an old computer at work running XP, I was hovering my mouse over the taskbar in an attempt to see a preview. 😛
