Windows 7 Gadgets Question

I am running Windows 7 as my primary OS. (I can't stand how Windows 8 looks!)

Anyway, the problem I have is that randomly my gadgets on my desktop will all crash for no reason at all. Everything else is fine and windows keeps running. Why is this? Anyone else encounter this problem and were you able to fix it? Thanks.
 
never had an issue, are they the windows gadgets or 3rd party gadgets? does the application/event viewer show any errors?
