If I close the gadget and open it again it forgets all the settings and I have to start over from scratch. No other gadgets have this problem, just HW Monitor Meter.

So you actually turn off your pc ? lol

Why not just leave the gadget open ? I have the same problem with a add on thing but it is well worth using and keeping my pc on for.

The "talking clock" gadget I use has this problem. I turn off the hourly time announcements, and after reboots (few and far between) it forgets the setting.
The fix I use is to turn the volume all the way down for gadgets in the Windows mixer.

Most of the time the PC runs, sometimes I hibernate it. I only reboot when I install something that requires it like a video driver.

Hopefully I can find a fix for this problem.

Poke around in the gadget folder, and see if you can tell how it works. Even if you can't code, there may be an obvious workaround you can employ.

Update:

So I installed some critical updates and needed to reboot and the gadget remembered the settings. I dare not close the gadget though because it will probably lose the settings. I'm guessing this is a bug with the gadget.
