That's nothing. Go install Office 2013 and then get back to us.

Think instead of a sector based clone I will use dism.exe and make a file based one. Need to brush up on my skills there, been a while.
It's MS's fault because it is apparent they're frequently putting out fires in their OS. This is an HTPC, so I would like for at least a week of no need to update anything, rebooting, etc.

That's why I rarely reformat nowadays. But, in upgrading from Vista installed in 2010, figured a clean install was the way to go.

Have you installed ANY mainstream linux distribution lately? They are just as bad. I just did a fresh install of Linux Mint 17 and had about 300 updates.

Also, every mainstream version of linux these days has a MORE intrusivie version of Microsoft's "ask me for my password non-stop" security.

I have a Windows 7 SP1 disc so at least I don't have to do that part :D

Although, I have never reformatted my main PC since Windows 7 came out in 2009. Never have needed to :hmm:

Vista was still rock-solid for me but I just had to do WIN7 because the ATI/AMD drivers warning starting every game was getting really annoying. That and a couple other similar annoyances.

Never needed a reformat after nearly a decade with it. I don't know - maybe because CCleaner does a good job with the registry and other crap. Before that, I was reformatting XP every few months and even started cloning instead.
