Windows 7 - Folder viewing questions

I'm trying to organize my music folder to my liking and have a few q's...

First, utilizing "folder.jpg" does not look the same in Windows 7 as previous versions. If the folder view is Large Icons, it will show folder.jpg, but it's inside the "manila folder" graphic as if someone is rifling through the contents of the folder. I want to just see a nice flat, square folder.jpg, without being part of a "file folder" graphic, the way it used to be. Is there a way to do this?

And the other question...I know how to set the default view of a folder, by going to Organize and Folder options, etc. But can you have a different default view for each level of the folder tree?

My music folder has a folder for each artist, then within that, a folder for each album. I want all the artist folders displayed in List view. But then, when I go into an artist's folder, I want to view all the albums in Large Icon view so I can see the folder.jpg. But so far I can only make it so EVERYthing is list view, or everything is Large Icon view - I don't know how to mix them.

Hope that makes sense, it's kinda hard to explain...any help appreciated.

1.) No way to change this outside of making a .ico as you want it.

2.) Honestly, I'd just use the Music library, but if you want to do things this way then set your default folder template for music to large icons then change your music folder to list style.

Thanks for the quick response Rhonda.. disappointing though. The purpose of the folder.jpg is pretty well defeated when you're viewing it partially obscured and about 60 degrees off-axis, which is how it appears...
