Windows 7 Fail

Well, not really FAIL, but I've just been notified that my copy of Windows 7 is illegal.

Which I found funny, considering that I'm using the evaluation release. 😀

No clue why that showed up. I rebooted again and it didn't show the message anymore.
And my Windows copy is, of course, activated and legal. How could it NOT be?

Just wanted to share this with y'all.

The eval release does it at times.

When you reboot it re-activates itself.

If it does not Re-Activate next time, you can log to the System Panel, and by clicking on Reactivate Now, it takes you to the Microsoft server, the server senses that this is the RC eval. release, and would reactivate the OS.

WGA occasionally has false alarms. I've seen it with XP a few times. Might as well just get the full version though since the evaluations don't last forever.

Windows 7 is a vast improvement from Vista as it takes up much less ram and has other optimizations such as fast booting times. I recommend Windows 7, and if you really don't want vista and don't want to wait for the final version of Windows 7, you can download a copy of the Release Candidate from the Microsoft website for free and use it up till June of 2010. I am working with the Release Candidate right now and so far I have absolutely no complaints, considering Im a heavy computer use with advanced software.
