Windows 7 Drivers

I just installed 7 on my main rig as a dual boot and I was wondering why they left out drivers for my Creative Sound Blaster Live! Platinum with a live Drive IR. I have a Intel G31 series motherboard and the on board audio to put in plainly sucks. Do drivers exist for this card for Windows 7 or do I have to take it out and use the crappy on board audio? This really surprises me as XP picks up the card no problem
Thanks

Because Creative didn't write them?

It shouldn't, XP was released 7 years ago now and at the time that was still a current card.

Have you even tried the onboard Realtek audio on your G31??? It'll either have the Realtek ALC268 or Realtek ALC888. Both which are HD audio and better than an extremely old SBL with current software support.

This too. I have found Realtek's drivers very good in Vista 64- not sure about Windows 7 but I'd suspect they'd be pretty decent.

There are only two ways that hardware-specific driver support gets into Windows or Windows Update; the device vendor submits WDM drivers to Microsoft for this purpose, or provides the programming manual and enough reference/source code for Microsoft to fold it into one of the OS-supplied class/function drivers along with a big check to cover Microsoft's expenses. If it ain't included with Windows or available from Windows Update, neither one of these things happened. The exception being if the device and/or bus is no longer being supported, which isn't the case here.

I had found that the Vista RTM did not have SB Live! drivers, but updating Windows managed to find drivers. Did you try this route?
