I'm bought a new hdd yesterday and windows 8.1. I found my gpu drivers on the website, but not my motherboard drivers. The supported os only goes up to windows 7. Will I be able to install the windows 7 drivers?

Specs:
Cpu: i7 920
Mobo: Msi x58 pro-e
Ram: Corsair Vengeance 8gb
Hdd: Wd Blue 1tb

you have to check the hardware if the drivers for Windows 8.1 are available from each device's manufacturer

You're mother board doesn't look like they released a driver set for windows 8.

The best you can do it just try the windows 7 version matching what you got now meaning 64 or 32 bit

It should be OK. Most of my 8.1 drivers are the same as my 7 drivers.

That's an Intel based motherboard,so no reason why you can't get them from Intel's website for chipset, ie download their driver utility which checks for Intel drivers for your system.

Btw that board has Realtek Lan(Realtek 8111C Gigabit LAN) and onboard sound (Realtek ALC889A)so again you can get those from Realtek's website.
