Windows 7 doesnt clean up my Temp folder properly

I have Windows 7 Home Premium installed on my system and for about 2 months now i have the following problem: The Diskcleanup option, doesn't properly delete the files in the Windows/Temp folder. While the folder is filled with useless files (sometimes reaching up to 5GB in space), Disk clean up deletes only 10MB or so after its scan. I have to go into the Temp folder manually each time, scroll down and delete the largest .tmp files on my own. Is there a way to fix this? Thanks in advance mates.

Try clicking "clean system files" in the disk cleanup bottom left corner.

I have had this happen too in the past. Some program would create a lot of temporary files totaling GBs in the temp folder. I am not sure if the clean system files helps, but you can try.

I have re-installed and have not seen this problem happen again. Not sure what caused it. Some people say it is hp printer drivers.

Some programs with bad install programs put files in the temp directory that aren't really temp files. Really stupid, but it happens, even with companies you would not think it would happen.
