I'm trying to use the display size option (see image) on a 1900x1200 laptop to make the screen easier to read while maintaining clarity. I could just change to a lower resolution such as 1680x1050 however, the display is no longer crisp and clear when switching from the native resolution.

Here comes the problem, I also have an external monitor connected that I am extending my display to. The external display is 1440x900. If I change the display size to medium, the laptop itself is workable however the external display becomes almost useless due to the huge size of everything displayed on it.

Is there any way to either change the display size on only one monitor or make the laptops non native resolution look good? This is a work laptop/monitor so I can't just get a different external display >.<

HP Elitebook 8740w if that helps.

Thanks,

Right click on desktop, go to Screen resolution.

You can set the resolution for each display by clicking on the display 1 or 2. My laptop is 1400x1050 and my external display is 1920x1200.

Leave the res at Native. Change the text to 125%. Should be bigger and sharp.

Display, Properties, Settings, Advanced. Use 120 DPI.

When browsing, change text size to LARGER.
