Windows 7 can't install drivers through windows update

Hello everyone,

Whenever I plug something into my computer running Windows 7 Pro x64, such as a USB keyboard or printer, Windows Update searches for the driver but never find it. I know these devices are working because they work with every other computer I plug them in to. I would install the driver for my printer (Canon PIXMA iP6700D) manually, but on the Canon website, it says I can only install the driver through Windows Update. This only started happening recently, my computer wasn't always like this. Does anyone know what the problem might be?
