its in power settings under advance or something like that.

I had/have this problem depending on what boot loader im using... do you have dual boot with anything?

Power options > edit plan settings > advanced

I had that problem a while back (different OS) and I *think* it was Logitech MouseWare that was waking the computer.

If I remember correctly, even though I had 'mouse wakeup' (or whatever it's called) turned off - Logitech MouseWare was probing the hardware, every few seconds - causing the computer to wake up.

LoL!

I could be totally wrong about this, but that's the way I remember it. :)

Anyway, it might be something unexpected like that...

Here's a couple of good things to look for:
Media Sharing Config

This describes how to see if media sharing is preventing sleep.

This one gives you the commands to see what exactly woke up your computer the last time or what can wake your computer. I ran the 2nd command example given on my thinkpad, all it returned was the modem but I know plugging/unplugging a USB device such as a flash drive as well as moving an external usb mouse will wake up the laptop as well.

Kevinf2090,

We have seen many reports of sleep issues with Windows 7 RC. Microsoft does have an official Windows 7 RC Support Forum located here http://tinyurl.com/9fhdl5 . It is supported by product specialists as well as engineers and support teams. You may want to check out the threads there for some helpful solutions.
