Okay this is weird, I have an external HD enclose in which I have a 500gb WD SATA HD mounted. I use it for B/U's. When I go to Control Panel>System & Security>Backup and Restore (Windows 7 64bit home premium) it shows the drive (K) as not connected, yet if I click to create a system image it "recommends" the K: drive, then creates a backup of my system but does not create a system image. The external enclosure is connected via USB.
FYI. I use the same setup to create a system image of another PC and it clearly shows the system image icon and name of the second pc as well as the backup for that computer, which is running Windows 7 32bit home premium (in a separate folder along with the b/u of the 64bit machine).
Can it be because the external drive is perceived as being "disconnected" on the initial b/u window, that the system image is not being created? Yet when connected to the 32bit machine all is copacetic.
