Windows 7 Backup/Restore or Acronis True Image 2011?

I am wondering if I need to upgrade to the latest version of Acronis TI 2011? I rarely use it for backing up file since I have an external drive that I manually backup files to.

My concern is this: I am considering a RAID 0 setup with 2 x 80GB SSDs on the Intel ICH10R and I am wondering if I backup everything from the RAID array using Windows 7's Backup/restore tool, would I be able to restore it to the array in the event of a failure? Does Windows 7 Restore recognize RAID arrays?

I think Acronis recognizes RAID arrays but I may be wrong about that.

Any advice would be appreciated.

I have used Acronis Home 2010 for successfully restoring to RAID arrays (using ICH10R RAID). Have not tested 2011 (it's out?). Have used Windows 7 backup/restore, but not in RAID so can't comment.

I haven't tried it, but my guess is that RAIDs on current intel chipsets would be supported just fine through the built-in drivers for Windows 7. Even if you had a chipset without drivers native to W7, you could probably put them on a USB-key and load them up under the recovery mode.

edit: though according to this thread, it may problematic.
