Windows 7 and TrueImage boot CD?

Can anyone confirm which versions of Acronis TrueImage (using the bootable CD only) work with Win7 Ultimate and it's 100MB secret partition?

Much of the info I've found online indicate that only TI 2010 work with Win7. However, that appears to be within the OS, and I'm only interested in backup/restore using the boot CD.

I've got TI v11 and 2009 Home and backups seem to work fine. Not had a chance to restore yet, though.
 
The Boot CD of 2010 is officially compatible with Win 7 Ultimate.

v11 and 2009 most of the time work to. I had few instance with HDs that have complicated partion arrangment and it did not work with Win7.

I do not what your configuration is, but if you use the boot CD run the validation tool after the creation on the tib file.
 
The boot CD from TI 2010 (12) works fine. If you have a registered TI-2010, you can download a ISO file from Acronis that is the best. It has 6 boot options.
 
I think what BlueWeasel is refering to is the "Clone" function. This will make a morror image that will be an exact copy of your HDD and could be used as a complete backup where you could clone it to a new drive if your original drive should fail.

That's exactly what I was asking about, if it wasn't very clear. I just want to know if I can do a mirror image back up of my C-drive (which contains Win7) using ATI v11 or v2009 Home. The goal is being able to restore this image in the event my system drive dies or I just want to revert back to it at any time.

Again, it's something I do using just the rescue/boot media. While I'm sure it works fine within Windows, I never do it that way (goes back to the days of running Ghost off a floppy drive). I use ATI just for backing up my C-drive partition, as I have other backup measures for other data (docs, pictures, music, etc.)

If you want to do a sector by sector image copy with Acronis, the image file will be exactly as big as the partition you are imaging. At least that is my experience. The other option, only saves your actual data, and it compresses it, so the image file will be much smaller than your actual data on your drive.
 
Cloning replicates the source drive on a target drive. Backup is different - requires restoration. A cloned drive is immediately bootable. However, Acronis TI 11 or higher is required for Vista or 7. Cloning with anything older requires a repair of the boot sector.

That's what I needed to know. When I installed Win7 from stratch, I made a clean image of the system using v11.81. I just want to make sure that restoring that image would work.
