Hmm well this throws a wrench into the reformat I was planning for this weekend. I don't think I can live without my 2142 🙁

Yes, I would just hold that reformat till someone here confirms whether Punkbuster is compatible with Windows 7 or not? 😕

Well, I tried manually updating again and haven't been kicked from W@W yet. I'm going to try Modern Warfare and see if it works.
Edit: 30 minutes of COD:4 with no kicks. I guess maybe the first manual update I did was messed up somehow...

I had absolutely no luck with PB and BF2 in Windows 7 (7057) even after countless reinstalls/manual updates to PB. After a little snooping around, I determined that the problem was with the PnkbstrB service not initializing/disappearing from the Services manager. Setting permissions and compatibility modes on the Punkbuster services didn't work either.
Yeah, here's what it logs right before the game crashes to desktop:Originally posted by: Modelworks

Have you looked in event viewer to see if there is anything there ?
It may be PB terminating itself because the windows version doesn't match.

I've read of people tabbing out and restarting the service every 10 mins or so. Not worth it IMO.
