Windows 7 and Multi-Monitor Support

In windows XP you could install multiple video cards that operated under different drivers, so you could use 2 different video cards for 4+ monitors without getting an expensive card etc.

Well they disabled, or dropped support for this in windows vista. Can anyone test or know for certain whether or not support for this will be available on Win7?

I have read that you can have heterogeneous drivers in 7 again. So, although you could run multiple cards in Vista (my friend has 2 8800s in SLI), you couldn't then drop in an ATi card.

Yeah, thats what wondering about. Do you have a link to the article or source or could provide confirmation of heterogeneous drivers in 7 (nice phrasing btw)?

Well, Synthdude already confirmed it, but it was either Ars Technica or WinSuperSite that I got that info from (those are where I am getting most of my Win 7 background info)

The nVidia control panel should let you run at least 6 monitors with that setup.

I don't know about SLI but you can run multiple video cards , even mix brands. It still has issues with getting things like video output on the correct screen for things like movies though.

Damn media center and its wanting to take over the screen, keyboard and mouse.
