Windows 7 and Java problem?

So I installed the 64 bit version of the newest Java. This worked fine in IE.
I also installed the 32 bit version but now, in firefox it does not work.

has anyone else seen this? or is it just something that will be fixed...
 
I cannot get ANY version of Java to work on either of my Win7 x64 comps... It worked fine a week ago, but then one of the installs went to shit (literally overnight) and I ended up reformatting both comps. Now, Java installs, but won't run, and I get an empty error message box when I try to open the Java option in control panel. I googled it, and ended up here 🙁
