I haven't had any luck searching for an answer to this one, but I wondered whether anyone knows of a method to alter the level of translucency of the Aero interface. I know that transparency can be enabled or disabled, but I'm surprised that there isn't an in-between option.

Those additional options don't alter the level of translucency, they just alter the colour tint.

Hi mikeymikec, if you toggle the "Enable Transparency" option in Windows Color, does it make a difference?

I have worked with computers that don't support this, but they were a) pretty old, or b) needed a video driver update.

The "Enable Transparency" activates the Color Intensity slider. That directly effects transparency. As you slide to the left and the intensity diminishes, transparency increases.

<places window edge over icon, sweeping the colour intensity slider from one end to the other repeatedly>... hmm, so it does :)
