Windows 7 activation, no internet connection

Just wondering, this machine I'm installing Win7 on, isn't going to have an internet connection available.

If I activate it with my internet connection, and then deliver the computer, will it de-activate itself at some unknown point in the future because it cannot connect with MS's servers? Does Win7 "phone home" like Microsoft Security Essentials, or WinXP's Genuine Advantage?

And even if for some reason the activation process is triggered, you can do it over the phone with a telephone rep and it will work just fine.

You don't even need to talk to a rep. Just "try" to do the online activation, let it fail, then click the "phone microsoft" button. You'll get a phone number to call and a string of 9 blocks of 6 numbers each. You'll just read that to an automated phone system and it will read back an activation number for you to put in. It takes 6 minutes altogether.

Just make sure to tell them it's only been installed on 1 PC if it asks.

You read the number in? I've found it much easier just to key the numbers in via the phone keypad....lot faster and never have to repeat myself.
