Can it be done?

Have an account with read / write rights, but that CANNOT delete files ?

I can do this for an account, under permissions

But cannot get it to work for a network share ?
The only options available for a network path are :

Full control
Change
Read

Yes. Uncheck 'delete' and 'delete subfolders and files'. Share permissions is not where you set this. That isn't the same as the filesystem permissions.

Uncheck where ?

I only get 3 permission setting when setting the folder share:

Full control
Change
Read

All the other option are only available when setting the user account ?

Delete, etc are file system permissions. Right click on the directory, select properties then security tab.

I still don't get it...

Yes, I can do that under system permissions, not a problem
But then, as permissions for a network share, again, there are only 3 options

Got it now..

Thanks for your help imagoon

I changed the file permissions, but didn't want to (was afraid) to change the permissions under the actual "share" path
There, only 3 options are available, full control, change and read
Originally, I only had read, since "change" is described to have the following attributes:

Change. Allows users to read, write, rename, and delete files in the folder and its subfolders, but not create new files (this is straight from microsoft )

The "change" you are quoting is the file system change. Share change is more or less "write" and full control = access ACLs and other file system functions.
