I currently have Vista 32 bit. Can I download the 64 bit version of Windows 7 without doing a clean install?

...and yes, I do have a 64 bit capable mobo.

NO 32-bit version of Windows can have an in-place upgrade to a 64-bit version. All require a clean install on the system partition.

you could use USMT to transfer files/settings/reg data & user accounts from xp 32 to win7 64 , if you want
but this might be more work than is worth it for you
