I'm sorry to say but I don't know the expected release date. Microsoft is still pushing out beta releases (I am an official beta tester) and as a matter of fact they just released v1421 late this week.
They're getting closer though, each build is better than the last.![]()
AFAIK, yes it is.Originally posted by: Bateluer
Edit - Wait, its 1289 I got. I thought they just posted 1289 on their site a week ago. Is 1421 only released to official beta testers?

As the old saying goes, "if it weren't for the last minute, nothing would get done". You need deadlines in any profession. My guess is there is much more at play than simply programming. Microsoft has a corrupt relationship with Intel. Bill Gates even owns a huge share in Apple Computer.
Try as AMD may, they face an incredible alliance of corrupt business operations. Dell Computer is another good example.
I guess my point is that I'm pissed off. We could have all been running 64-bit Windows a year ago. AMD64 is more important than what Longhorn is going to bring to the table IMO.

Its not so much the windows code that would need tons of tweaking its getting drivers for every single device known to man coded for x86-64 and working properly.

Could've swore that I read somewhere not even a couple of weeks ago about the 64-bit XP looked ready and willing for a late March release (could've been May as well, can't remember). I'm searching for proof, and will post it when I find it.
