Windows 64-bit PC wont play DVDs

When I insert a DVD into my DVD drive, Windows shows the curser with the little spinning CD, but then it doesnt read the disc. My computer will read any other type of disc, just not movie DVDs. I tried two movies too. Is this a problem with Windows 64-bit? I'd appreciate any help. Thanks.

Just to make sure that the dvd isn't playing:

Try right-click in Explorer and select autorun
or
try another dvd
or
right-click the movie [vob] file in explorer and select play with....... and choose a media player or whatever you use

let us know if any of those work

Could be a defective DVD drive. Can try different DVD playback software, if you still get the same issue, that will confirm it.

Windows doesnt detect a disc at all. And, as I said above, I've tried multiple movies. My drive will read normal DVDs just not movies.
