I didn't even know that Windows 3.1 users can go online until I met someone who said he goes online using Windows 3.1. I thought wow it was a good job I was sitting down at the time. :)

I used to go online with DOS.

Then Windows 3.11

Most of my friends were using variants of Linux at the time. We hung out on IRC. They'd BSOD Win 95/98 users left and right. They couldn't touch my Win 3.11 box. ;)

Ah, the good old DOS days. I used to enjoy them. Speaking of XTGold - take a look at the current successor, ZtreeWin. It is the old XTGold uipdated for all current versions of Windows including 7. I use it in XP and 7. It is a very powerful tool.

I don't know of a freeware version. $29.95 is almost freeware. :)

Oh they were. WinNuke wasn't something you used if you were a nice person, that's for sure.

From the link "The term WinNuke refers to a remote denial-of-service attack (DoS) that affected the Microsoft Windows 95, Microsoft Windows NT and Microsoft Windows 3.1x computer operating systems"

lolz

even more lolz at the fact the moderator edited his post, and the quote of his post ;)

In those days PC configuration both hardware and software was an artform
