Windows 2k3 Drivers for ATI

Hi,

I've just finished installing a Windows 2003 Server Standard Edition, and just installed drivers and made a proper windows update.

Now the only thing that is missing is ATI drivers for the graphic card.

For that, I have a quick question: For driver installation, it is required that I have .NET Framework installed on my machine. I believe there's no problem with that, since Win2k3 is by itself .NET best friend ... but what about the driver for ATI? Any other light driver installation? This is a server, not a game rig ...

<edit>
Oh, and there are Windows 2000 and XP versions on ATI driver site. Which version should I choose?
</edit>

Thanks 🙂

1. If this is a server, not a game rig, why are you concerned with graphics drivers?
2. If you've already got the .net framework installed, what's the problem? I doubt ati drivers are going to not install because the framework is there.
3. If there isn't a 2003 version of the drivers, well... see #1

I'm not that concerned with it ... as a matter of fact, I'm installing the software on the machine, without being worried about graphic drivers. What I want to know, is if any of you install drivers, and for what reason.

Also the lack of Windows 2003 drivers on ATI site suggested me not to worry about it in the first place. And you any of you install, what version (2000 vs XP) do you choose?

But I think you're right, I don't see any reason to worry about them.

Thanks.

Eh, thanks 🙂 didn't saw your answer by a minute 🙂

Do you see any advantage for having driver installed? (Other than the hardware being recognized, that is)
