i am thinking of buying a raptor. if i were to buy this raptor, i would use it as the only HD in my computer. is installing windows on a SATA hard drive any differant than installing windows on a PATA? will windows 2k boot up and see it? or will i have to make a boot disk with sata drivers and other pieces of insanity?

thnx

The install will go as normal. You will need a floppy with the SATA drivers. Press F6 to install the SATA drivers when the Windows installer tells you to.

If you have never worked the F6 function in windows, you might want to make sure you have more than JUST the drivers on the floppy. There has to be a file in the root of the floppy called oemsetup.txt (I think thats it). At any rate, I am only saying all of this to keep you from just copying the files you think you need, then wondering why it won't work...
