Windows 2K & Office 2K - Word&Excel - Crash on Exit - Help!!

Greetings All ?

Okay here?s my dilemma. I?m setting up a Windows 2000 SP2 machine ? I installed Microsoft Office Professional Disc 1 & 2. Then I downloaded the SR-1a update, then proceeded to download and install the SP2 update for Office (with the proper rebooting, etc). Now that is all and well ? but I have a problem now ?

The problem only seems to be in MS Word and MS Excel. You and open and close both programs fine ? that is without opening a file. Both programs open files fine, and seem to respond normally. You can File > Close the .doc or .xls or whatever fine. BUT ? when you try to exit the program itself, it crashes every time. ?Winword.exe generated a error ?etc?

So I?ve tried uninstalling Office on that machine ? and reinstalling it. Same problem. Then re-updating to SR-1a, same problem.

Any ideas? The other programs seem to work great, no issues ? and it seems to only happen on the exit. I also downloaded registry repair from Microsoft for Office 2000 again ? no luck.
