windows 2k install problem - stops mid file copy

Hi,

I'm installing w2k on a new hard drive, everything goes okay with the
partioning and formatting phase, then it starts copying files, but
seems to freeze around 16%.

I've re-partioned and reformatted a dozen times now and still the same
result. I've tried installing xp but it does the same thing.

Any idea on why it would hang in the middle of copying files???

You might try a different cdrom drive or a different win2k disk. I've had both cause various odd things on installs. Like hanging in the same spot everytime.

I tried the 2nd cd-rom drive, but no go; I'll try a another disk
for w2k and see if that would work. Thanks.
