Do I format my harddrive with Windows 2K the same way as 98/ME?
I made a boot disk (which was 4 disks) and I inserted them for the bootup.
Is the bootup supposed to take me to a DOS prompt where I do the normal "format c:"?
I also have partitioned drives which I dont want partitioned anymore.
So if I format will it automatically format them all back into one C drive?

i haven't try the boot-up disk before, but i suppose it will let u access the CD and then install from there. during the 1st phase of the installation, u have the option to choose the partition u wanna install W2k and then the option to use the current format (fat16 or fat32) or to to format the partition to NTFS.

i'm guessing u have fat32. i think W2k won't take fat16.

if you can boot to a cd, then do it that way if you can, but it doesnt matter at the prompt type winnt hit enter, it will guide ya from there, you will format from within the Win2k Setup program .. good luck ..

Yea, after I hooked up my 40GB Maxtor DM+ 60, I booted directly to the Win2K installation CD and it handled the FDISK/FORMAT duties within the installation process. SMOOTH!

make a bootdisk in win 9x/me and stick it in your win2k box. use fdisk to format your hd.
