Windows 2K External CD-Drive

Hi everyone
I need help installing Windows 2K on a laptop that uses an external Cd-rom drive. I've done it many years ago, but now I completely forgot how to boot the Windows CD from the external CD-Drive. How can I get the laptop to boot from the external cd-rom drive?? I do have the drivers for the external drive on a floppy.. but how do i incorporate it into the installation of windows..like i said I've done this many years ago but I forgot how to install windows using the external drive..
i would appreciate any help...
