Windows 2k - Can't Drag/Drop Icons To the Taskbar

Any ideas? What I am missing here?

Seems really odd. Can't find any options to change to allow this. In 9X, it has always been automatic that I could drop icons onto my taskbar.

Well did you put into the quicklaunch bar? you can't put it on any random spot of the taskbar. just teh quicklaunch toolbar

It doesnt make any difference if the quick lauch bar is on...though i CAN do SOME stuff with that.

For example....if I want a shortcut to my Control Panel....I can drag the CP to the taskbar & then I will have buttons (not icons) to the CONTENTS of my CP on the taskbar...but not the icon itself.

I would say try to find the right spot because i was able to do that. the taskbar is rather picky about where to put stuff on the taskbar

Anyone else have a guess???

I even tried Xteq & it gave me an error when I tried to reinsert the go-to-desktop icon.
