I have Windows 2k Advanced server i got all the update including the win2k service pack3. I also have Symantec - Norton Internet Security 2002 Professional editon as my firewall running. Here is the problem.
When i start up the computer it goes to the log in and it hangs for a while then i get an error in Event Viewer telling me to view it.
I go to event viewer and i see 2 errors.

The Simple Mail Transport Protocol (SMTP) service hung on starting.
The World Wide Web Publishing Service service hung on starting.

I tried going to M$ data base but i couldnt understand anything.
Has anybody seen anything like this before?

Thanks in advance.

Dino

You can use certain firewall products but Norton Internet Security 2002 does not run well on any Server edition of Windows, especially Advanced Server. What are you using Advanced Server for anyways?

There are solutions that don't require you to run a pirated copy of Windows just to remote control it.

And something tells me if you can't understand the docs on MS' site you shouldn't be running IIS and most likely spreading code red and nimda.
