Windows 2003 SP2 RC

Any idea if there is going to be another RC of server 2003 or is the current RC going to be the final version? It has been out there for a while. Thought some of the MSDN people might know the inside scoop.

RC of 2003 what? If you're talking about 2003 R2, that was a release, not a release candidate.

I believe he means Server 2003 SP2....so he's talking Release Candidate, not R2.

I read that Microsoft does not suggest deploying it on anything other than test machines, but who knows how long it will be before the final one is released, I imagine they have their dev team's hands full with Vista.

Until Vista slowed them down, MS had projected that it would have 2003 SP2 out in 2006. The last I heard they were hoping for the end of the second quarter of 2007. They need to get it out soon, as the SP will add Vista group policy features.

Hey, those who use SBS are going to have to wait even longer. SP1 for Server 2003 wasn't safe to use with SBS until a separate SP1 for SBS 2003 was released. I imagine it'll be the same thing with SP2. 🙁
