cant seem to slipstream the x64 offline update into my xp pro 64 (yes, I downloaded the xp pro 64bit edition offline service pack and extracted it).

What is the slash command, says that update.exe is not a valid windows application:

E:\SP2\amd64\update\update.exe -s:E:\Windows

tried the /s as well, no go

Are you doing this from a 64bit enviroment or 32bit? If it is from a 32bit, it will not work, as the executable is not a valid Win32 application, since it was written for x64.

I've got it running on most servers in my lab now (deployed via WSUS). A good update to have, has some good features like the scalable networking pack built-in

I would too, considering the number of interdependent components in SBS it's got to be hard to ensure quality.

The good news is that the SP can *almost* always be uninstalled in the event that you run into issues.

Does anyone have the MD5 sum for the SP2 x86 ISO image? I'd like to check the integrity of the ISO I downloaded from Microsoft. For some reason Microsoft doesn't provide any checksum that I can find.
