Windows 2003 server SP1?

Someone told me that only thing you have to do to make windows 2003 server 64 bit. Is this true. I can't imagine just a service pack making an OS 64 bit. Please advice.

No, just applying SP1 will not make 2003 64-bit. You have to do a complete reinstall with a 64-bit distrobution.

edit: They were probably just confused because Microsoft released both the Service Pack 1 and the x64 Edition at roughly the same time.
