Windows 2003 Server Question

Hello all,

I have a Windows 2003 server running as a domain controller (just upgraded from Windows NT Server). I am trying to add a regular domain user into the Administrator group on a domain machine (running 2000 Professional). I have tried adding this user to the group using the domain administrator account as well as the machine Administrator account. The system keeps telling me:

""

I have also tried adding the same user into the PowerUsers group and get the same error.

I know the domain server is visible because I added the domain machine into the domain. I also deleted all user profiles from the machine and then logged in as multiple domain users (Administrator, plus two additional domain users).

Interestingly, I can add domain users into the security profile for a directory (thereby granting them access to that directory), but not into groups.

Any ideas?
