Windows 2003 Server, 1 dual nic, 1 onboard NIC

Got a Windows 2003 Server with a Compaq Netelligent dual Nic Card, and a Single onboard NIC, I want to team these together so I can make them appear as one connection to the network. I have been on the MS website, but no luck.

I know you networking gurus here know how to do this, and I would appreciate any help.

The HP Network Configuration Utility can be used to team NICs. Download off the HP support site or it should be installed if you used Smartstart to build the server. I believe up to 8 ports can be teamed, but I personally have teamed just the onboard dual NICs.

so you have a Dual NIC card, and a single onboard NIC...are you wanting to team all 3 together?

I would use similar hardware to team...if the add in card is dual, then team those two and leave the onboard alone.

Keep in mind that teaming requires that ability on both sides of the connection. So you will need to have the server connect to a managed switch that supports teaming.
