i noticed a previous post through search but it didn't exactly answer my question
in reading the whitepaper; i noticed that with win2k3 enterprise r2, you can host 4 virtual instances in addition to the 1 physical instance, and that you can install a standard version as a virtual instance under that license.
i have win2k3 enterprise r2 x64 on my physical server and running vmware on top of that with the aim of putting 1 virtual instance on that
i want the virtual instance to be win2k3 standard x86 --> while microsoft indicates that this is a legal/valid use of the 1 enterprise license; what do i enter in for the product key?
