Windows 2003 Ent server and remote desktop problems

So suddenly I am getting this error while trying to log in with remote desktop client and I have no idea why!

"Could not log you on because RPC service is not available"


any recommendations?
 
thanks for the replies guys. I was able to log on to the console and restart, and it appears to be working now but i will follow up if i have any other strange issues. this is the first time it happened in several years so it was odd.
the RPC service was running by the way.
