windows 2000 will not shut down and restart any more, or respond to the buttons from my case

installed windows 2000 SP1 thing still locks up during shut down, what the heck gives, ..
on a soyo 6ba+4 with p2 450 secc2 196 mb mutt ram, sblive, voodoo3 2k , on udma 33 controller, also, has 2 20 gb hard drives, dvd, 6x4x32 burner, 32x cdrom. . . . dvd decoder,

some one please suggestions?, i can only get to safe mode

sounds like a stupid advice but i think i would try reinstalling win2k

no not stoopid, just . . i really really dont wanna, ssssnniff, if i do, how could i make win2k detect the win 98se i have on another hard drive and load it into the boot loader?
